Practice Areas

International Arbitration

International arbitration sits at the heart of our practice, and constitutes the majority of our workload.

Our team brings experience in over 20 arbitration cases under the most prominent institutions, such as the ICC, LCIA, DIAC, HKIAC, VIAC, and ISTAC. We help our clients and global colleagues from the commencement of arbitration to recognition and enforcement, or set-aside applications.

In our first year, we successfully completed an ICC arbitration subject to English law, winning a $500k award forour client. The dispute was between a financial institution and a liquidity provider, spanning around unlawful costs and charges, and regulatory misconduct under the FCA regulations.
‍
In addition to acting as counsel, we also provide legal assistance regarding arbitration procedure under the Arbitration Act 1996 and various arbitration institutions’ rules, as well as providing pre/post-action legal advice to clients and global colleagues.

Some of our work in this respect involved advising a group of individuals in their similar but separateclaims of over £20m in total against aUK financial institution, and assisting in the assessment of the enforcement of two ad hoc arbitration awards, both of over $1m: one against a Ukrainian charterer by a shipowner, and another against a Russian charterer by a port operator.

Cross-border Disputes

With our dual-qualified lawyers and strategic partners, we help our clients resolve their international disputes with ease, and guide them through all stages of their disputes.

Our cross-border disputes practice focuses on providing an effective and efficient dispute resolution strategy. We help our clients and colleagues to achieve effective risk analysis, and efficient resource deployment, through the EU’s interstate frameworks and key offshore jurisdictions.

We have a network of contacts in the UK and Europe, Türkiye, the Middle East, and Central Asia that help us navigate global matters, complex corporate structure, and lengthy asset tracing matters closely and diligently.
